Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledage or experience.
Some blieve that music crosses borders between different gnerations and nationalities and can help people understand each other more and become closer. In the flowing essay, I'll explain why I completely disagree with this satement.
Firstly, looking at the age gap, I believe it is common knowledge that the music of one generation generally isn't appreciated by the successive one,or vice versa.Music develops and changes over time and is so varied even in one culture that it can be loved by some and detested by others.Take my father as an example. He enjoys some classical music and always tries to cover his ears when I play mine in the car, which is due to the change in pop music culture throughout the years. Therefore,if people within a certain generation, and also within a family cannot agree on music talent, then Idon't believe it can bring other generations together.
Moving on to the cultural dfferences, I believe that it is normally misunderstood, or at least not comprehended and depending on the situation, it could cause some slight embrrassment or potentially, an outright argument. An example of this would be Beijing Opera. There are many people around the world who enjoy opera, but I don't believe that there are many who like opera from both sides of the world. There are completely diferent performances or art that I don't believe can be truly appreciated for what they are if you don't understand the history of their development.Simply trying to 'appreciate'an opera doesn't bring people closer.
In conclusion, for the reasons I have discussed above, I must totally disagree with the statement saying music is effective at bringing dfferently aged and cultured people togther.

Music is an inherent quality of all human cultures on the planet, carrying with it the qualities of the particular civilizations which make their own styles of music. One would thus assume that music is an excellent way to bring people from different cultures and generations together. However, not everyone agrees. Therefore,we need to analyse both sides of the issue.
Individuals who have been to a live concert have experienced the power of music for themselves.A symphony by Beethoven seemingly transcends cultural differences and is enjoyed by people around the world.Perhaps this is due to some component of sound that affects all humans the same way.For example,in the climactic end of the movie Titanic, the ship's musical performers play a sad song that moves the hearts of all who hear it,and thus no words or understanding of culture are needed to experience the tragedy of the scene.
The issue of musical taste does create a certain amount of conflict between people of different age groups and:cultural backgrounds.Such was the case at the advent of rock and roll, wherein members of the older generation of the time saw rock as promoting loud, discordant, and negative social activities. The same was,and still is,said about rap music, which often includes graphic language that some people are uncomfortable with. However, with the passage of time, even forms of music that were once viewed as distasteful become mainstream, and it is common to see people around the world enjoying music from different countries, taking part in a shared cultural experi-ence despite their differences from each other.
In sum,I believe that music is a powerful vehicle of bringing people together.Human emo-tion is relatively uniform across cultures and ages,.and something about certain sounds is able to affect the way we feel.Furthermore, despite difterences in personal taste, music has proved to be popular internationally, and is a great conversation starter when foreigners meet one another.(331 words)
