  Traditionally, the general public have little knowledge about the process of criminal trials,but now many of these cases are broadcasted on TV.I think this policy can make the judicial work fairer and more transparent,but it also causes some problems.

  Undoubtedly,TV broadcast of the trial is an effective way to guarantee the public's right to be informed of the court case. Taking advantage of the influence o mass media, such programs can draw people's attention to some events. For instance, some cases of corrupted government officials are broadcasted on TV and after watching them, the general public show more confidence in the law and the court.Also,the process and the result of the trail can have a deterrent effect on those who intend to commit crimes making them consider the consequences of criminal behavior.

  However,we have to admit that this practice has its drawbacks. Broadcasting the trial may cause great pressure on those judicial officials,Whose work could be affected by the public opinion. For the general public,watching the trial on TV would undoubtedly leave them a deeper impression of the criminal act. When exposed to excessive details of the crimes, particularly those violent ones,some people may feel uncomfortable and lack a sense of security. Another concern is that TV broadcast may lead to the invasion of the privacy of victims as well as those who are prosecuted.
