  I work with many young, energetic and good-looking teachers who have plenty of charisma, and the students are charmed. Sadly, their teaching effectiveness is not as impressive as their popularity. Working with them, I understand and quite concur with the idea that it is not easy to juggle popularity and teaching effectiveness.

  From the case above, it is fair to believe that a teacher can be popular even though the teacher may be not-so-competent in doing their jobs properly. However, it may take the opposite to be an effective teacher, who may have to be strict, rigid, authoritative and resolute and sometimes even intimidating.
